Location data is stored only in your browser's local storage. When detecting location automatically, we use browser geolocation (if permitted) or IP-based lookup via third-party services (Cloudflare, Open-Meteo). These services may see your IP address or coordinates. Civic information is retrieved from our server using your city, state, and approximate (rounded) coordinates, which are used to look up your congressional district in public government data sources, including the U.S. Census Bureau and OpenStates. Rounded coordinates may be retained temporarily in server caches. We never receive or store your exact coordinates.
