1. Overview

LEFT Network respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects our users to do the same. In accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act ("DMCA"), we will respond expeditiously to claims of copyright infringement committed using our service.

2. Our Service and Content

LEFT Network is a news aggregation service. We do not host or republish full articles or complete copyrighted works. Our service provides:

  • Links to original publisher websites
  • Article titles as published by the source
  • Short excerpts (typically ≤120 characters)
  • Reduced-size thumbnail images for preview purposes
  • Clear source attribution and publication dates

This usage is consistent with fair use principles for news aggregation. However, we respect copyright holders' rights and will promptly respond to valid takedown requests.

3. Filing a DMCA Notice

If you believe that content linked or displayed on LEFT Network infringes your copyright, please send a written notice to our designated Copyright Agent with the following information:

Required Information:

  1. Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed, or if multiple works, a representative list.
  2. Identification of the material claimed to be infringing, including the URL or specific location on LEFT Network.
  3. Your contact information: name, address, telephone number, and email address.
  4. A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  5. A statement that the information in the notification is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.
  6. Your physical or electronic signature.

5. Our Response Process

Upon receipt of a valid DMCA notice, we will:

  1. Remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing material
  2. Notify the content source (if applicable)
  3. Document the takedown in our records
  4. Take appropriate action regarding repeat infringers

We typically respond to valid DMCA notices within 1-3 business days.

6. Counter-Notification

If you believe that material you posted was removed or disabled by mistake or misidentification, you may file a counter-notification with our Copyright Agent containing:

  • Your physical or electronic signature
  • Identification of the material and its prior location
  • A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification
  • Your name, address, and telephone number
  • A statement that you consent to jurisdiction of the Federal District Court for your judicial district (or if outside the US, any district where LEFT Network may be found)
  • A statement that you will accept service of process from the complainant

7. Repeat Infringer Policy

We maintain a policy of terminating, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts or access of users who are repeat copyright infringers.

8. Misrepresentation Warning

Under Section 512(f) of the DMCA, any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material is infringing, or that material was removed or disabled by mistake or misidentification, may be subject to liability.

9. Alternative Resolution

Before filing a DMCA notice, we encourage copyright holders to contact us directly at dmca@left.network to discuss the issue. In many cases, matters can be resolved quickly and cooperatively without formal legal process.
